Following a meticulous restoration process carried out at our facilities, it has been possible to recover decisive elements that had previously remained hidden from the human eye. The importance of the finding led to a second phase of study, which culminated in the attribution of the piece to the production of the workshop of the great Flemish artist Joos van Cleve.

The analytical techniques used by CAEM have made it possible to confirm the production process of the work according to the methods used in Flemish workshops, and more specifically in this prolific Antwerp workshop, where, under the direction of the master Cleve, major artists of the Flemish Renaissance were trained.
